EU Taxonomy Study

blue auditor’s founder and CEO Wolfgang Lukaschek participated as a representative of the Austrian Green Building Council #ogni in a study to evaluate the market readiness of the European real estate industry for the new EU Taxonomy assessment. The study is based on 62 buildings from all asset classes across Europe and analyzed new, existing as well as buildings in renovation. Amongst many other important findings, the study revealed that green building certification does (currently) automatically imply an alignment with the EU Taxonomy.
However, specifically DGNB certified buildings are more likely to achieve alignment due to the rigorous sustainability requirements and the necessary documentation as evidence which is found for this green building system.
